(14 May 1903, Sayre Headlight, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): DIED. Polly S. Lawhern (sic) of appendicitis, May 13, 1903, at her home in this city. Mrs. Lawhern was 31 years of age and leaves a loving husband and two small children to mourn her loss. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. L. Henson, Pastor of the M. E. Church South, at the residence to-day and the body was shipped to Rex, I. T., for interment. (15 May 1903, Sayre Enterprise, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): Mrs. Lawhorn, wife of A. L. Lawhorn, died Tuesday night, 13th, inst. Her death resulted from appendicitis and an operation from which she had not sufficient strength to recover. The body was embalmed and this Friday morning, shipped to their former home at Rex, I. T., for interment. Mr. Lawhorn's brother and wife accompanied him on the sad journey to Rex. The sympathy of the community goes out to the bereaved husband and two motherless children. (29 May 1903, Sayre Enterprise, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): DEATH OF MRS. LAWHORN Died at Sayre, O. T., May 13th, 1903, after a brief illness, Mrs. Lyle Lawhorn, aged 31 years. Mrs. Lawhorn formerly lived at Rex, I. T., where her husband was postmaster and engaged in the mercantile business. They moved to Oklahoma two or three years ago. The burial took place May 17th at the Rex cemetery, conducted by Rev. G. R. Naylor, pastor of the First Baptist church of Wagoner, I. T. The funeral was attended by relatives from Oklahoma, Arkansas and different parts of Indian Territory. Deceased was a devoted Christian and died perfectly conscious in the triumph of a living faith.
