MARTIN, JESSE
(26 Mar 1908, Thursday, Sayre Headlight, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK):
J. C. Martin received a message Tuesday of this week that his father had
died at the home near Colchester, Ill., at the age of 84 years.  Mr.
Martin's mother died about 4 weeks ago and with a sad heart Mr. Martin
left on the first train to be present at the burial of his father and the
scenes of his boyhood days will not be like any former visit.  There will
be no fond mother or father to greet their son and the glad welcome that
has always been so much cherished by all will not be there this time. 
This old couple have went hand in hand for nearly sixty years and are the
parents of ten children, all living, and the writer from personal
knowledge knows that they have all lived honorable, which was very
gratifying to the aged parents.
