MARTIN, GEORGE F.
(23 Jul 1926, Sayre Journal, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK):
DEMPSEY NEWS (Too late for last week)
George F. Martin was born at Galatin, Tenn., July 9, 1845, age 81 years, 3
days.  He was married to Annie Ferrell, April 6, 1870, who passed away
February 21, 1900.  To this union was born seven children, five boys and
two girls.
Grandpa Martin confessed his Savior at the age of 17 years and has devoted
his life and means to that cause.  He leaves to mourn his loss seven
children, twenty-five grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, 3
sisters and a host of friends.  The funeral services were held at the
Dempsey cemetery (Roger Mills county) conducted by Elder Taylor and Judge
Mitchell of Clinton.  The latter being an old time friend of the deceased.
For twenty years Grandpa Martin has preached the gospel in the school
houses all over Roger Mills Co., for the love of the cause he asked no
recompense, but laid his treasures up in heaven where we feel sure he is
now received his reward.
