(11 Feb 1926, Thursday, Sayre Headlight, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): MRS. JULIA MONROE Sermon by Rev. T. N. Weeks at Her Funeral February 7, 1926 Mrs. Julia Monroe was born in 1836, died February 8 (5), 1926. She was seventy-nine years, six months and six days old. She married H. J. Young in 1851, and to this union were born five children, four of whom are yet alive. She was left a widow at the age of twenty-nine, and in 1876 married M. R. Monroe. To this union six children were born, four of whom are living. She joined the Methodist church in 1864, and was a faithful worker in its service to her death. She leaves eight children, twenty-four grand children and twenty-two great grand children, besides other relatives and close friends to mourn her. (18 Feb 1926, Sayre Journal, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): JULIA A. MONROE Mrs. Julia Monroe, age 80 years, died at the home of her son, Ben Monroe, Friday of last week, after an illness of about two weeks duration. After an accidental fall which fractured her hip and made possible internal injuries and from her advanced age, her death resulted. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church and interment made in the Sayre-Doxey cemetery Sunday afternoon.
