(25 Sep 1930, Thursday, Sayre Headlight, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): Jerry Morris, age 79, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C. A. Laxton, eight miles south and two miles east of Sayre Tuesday evening. Cause of the death was not learned. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist church 2:30 Friday afternoon with Rev. Roberts conducting the service. Interment will be made in the Erick cemetery with Killough-Hullum of Sayre in charge. "Daddy" Morris, long time resident of Erick, who died at the home of relatives in Sayre, Wednesday, will be held in the First Baptist church here next Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by the pastor, Rev. W. A. Roberts. (28 Sep 1930, Sunday, Sayre Headlight, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): FUNERAL OF ERICK MAN HELD FRIDAY Funeral services for Jerry M. Morris, age 79, of Erick were held at the First Baptist church of that city, 2:30 Friday afternoon with Rev. W. A. Roberts, pastor of the church officiating. The deceased was born in Texas August 28, 1851. He was converted and joined the Baptist church of Erick four years ago. He is survived by five children: E. S. Morris of Arkansas City, Kans.; Mrs. C. A. Laxton, Delhi, Oklahoma; J. W. Morris, Erick; J. C. Morris, Decker, Montana; and A. B. Morris, Harrisburg, Ill. He is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: G. W. Morris, Oklahoma City; Mrs. Sally Jones, Ada; and Mrs. Kansas Hinkle, Byers. The funeral was in charge of Killough-Hullum of Sayre.
