MORRISON, ALICE B.
(3 Dec 1925, Sayre Journal, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK):
Grandmother Morrison, an old and respected citizen of this and Merritt
communities, passed away quite suddenly last Wednesday night.  She was
laid to rest in the Doxey-Sayre cemetery Friday afternoon.

Mrs. Alice B. Morrison, wife of M. Morrison, died November 25th, at her
home, four miles west of Merritt School building.
Mrs. Morrison was a most estimable woman, having lived an exemplary life. 
At her death she was sixty-seven years old.  She joined the Baptist church
when a young woman, and has been true to the Christian faith throughout
her long life.
Before her marriage she was Miss Alice B. Smith.  She was born in Rolls
County, Mo., November 7th, 1858, and was married to M. Morrison, November
1st, 1874.  To this union were born thirteen children, of whom seven are
still living, four sons and three daughters, all of whom were present at
the funeral service.
The children are as follows:  Mrs. J. C. Barnard of Lubbock, Texas; Mrs.
T. C. Turman of Dallas, Texas; J. W. Morrison and N. G. Morrison, Doxey;
W. C. Morrison and J. O. Morrison of Elk City.
Funeral arrangements were in charge of Grubitz and Son, and the service
was conducted by the Rev. L. D. Mitchell, pastor of the First Baptist
church of Elk City.  The body was laid to rest in the Doxey-Sayre cemetery
on the afternoon of November 27th.
The aged husband, Mr. Morrison and the several members of the family have
the sympathy of a host of friends and neighbors over the entire county.
