Roe left last week to be at the bedside of her mother, Mrs. A. L. Nash at McPherson, Kans., who was taken suddenly sick. While on the train going thru Geary, Mrs. Roe received another telegram stating her mother had died at seven o'clock that evening. The best of medical attendance was of no avail. Mrs. Nash has been an invalid for 3 years. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist church. A husband and three daughters are left to mourn her departure. Miss Ethel and Alice Nash and Mrs. Chas. Roe of Doxey, Okla. (19 May 1911, Friday, Sayre Headlight, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): Doxey, Okla., May 11, 1911. To My Friends and Neighbors, also to the conductor, auditor and passengers on No. 42, words seem inadequate to express my appreciation of the many kindnesses shown me and mine during my late sorrow. These are dark days, my loss is great, only those who have had the same experience can realize my sorrow: what is a home without a mother. Mrs. C. J. Roe and Family.
