(21 Jun 1923, Sayre Headlight, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): George G. Richardson, the son of Harvey D. and Elizabeth Richardson of Leon, Iowa, was born October 16, 1850, in Davis County, Iowa, moving to Decatur County at the age of two years, where he grew to manhood. He was married to Rebecca J. Beal of Corydon, April 12, 1882. From this time on residing at Corydon until 1900. Then with his family came to Oklahoma settling on a farm near Prentiss. Later in 1920, moving to Sayre to spend the remainder of life. In the year 1906 united with M. E. Church. From that time on lived a life of service and sacrifice in the truest and highest sense. Passed from this earth, to his Heavenly home at the home of his son B. B. Richardson in Sayre on the morning of May 18, 1923. Leaving to mourn his loss, his wife, four sons and five daughters. One daughter preceded him to that better home, also one sister, Ellen Biddison of Leon, Iowa, and many other relatives and friends. A member of the Masonic order since the year 1880. He was held in highest esteem by all who knew him and will be missed in the community as many came to him for advice. Funeral services conducted at the M. E. Church by his pastor, Rev. J. C. Morris, May the 19.
