(5 Sep 1929, Thursday, Sayre Headlight, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): Dudley T. Roberts, aged 78 years died suddenly at his home in the Sweetwater community August 28, while working on his farm. Roberts is an old resident of this county and has many friends here. He was born in Grant county, Kentucky, January 11, 1851, where he lived until coming to Oklahoma in 1900. Upon coming here he homesteaded on a piece of land near the place where he died. He is survived by one son, L. W. Roberts, with whom he made his home, a daughter, Mrs. J. E. Sparks, also of this community, one brother, G. Roberts of Oklahoma City, a sister, Mrs. J. W. Beatty of Bowling Green, Ky., and a host of friends. Funeral services were held from the Buffalo church Friday morning at 10 o'clock with Rev. Milton Coffey officiating. Burial was in the Buffalo cemetery. Hullum funeral directors were in charge.
