ROBINSON, ROBERT ALEXANDER "ALEC"
(The Sayre Sun, Sayre, Beckham, Ok, Thurs 12 Aug 1959)
"R. ROBINSON DIED, RITES AT CARTER.  Funeral services for R. A. Robinson,
Carter, who died Thursday (6th August) at an Elk City rest home, will be
held Sunday, August 9, at the Carter Baptist church at 2:30 p.m., with
Rev. Charles R. Reed and Rev. George Ridley officiating.
Born Jan 11, 1870, in Bosque county, Texas, Mr. Robinson was married in
1888 in Meridian, Texas, to Lillie Elizabeth Parks.  He came to Oklahoma
in 1902 and settled at Altus.  In 1920 he moved to the Carter area where
he resided until he entered a rest home two months ago. His wife preceded
him in death April 4, 1952. Survivors include one son, Joseph Edgar, route
2, Sayre; one sister, Mrs. Hescue Lee, Chowchilla, California; one half
sister Mrs. Della Townley, Morgan, Texas; three grandchildren, Mrs. W. R.
Glass (Dorothy), Elk City; Mrs. Gale Harris (Joe Anna), Houston Texas; and
Joseph Edgar Robinson, Jr., Midland, Texas; six great grandchildren.
Committal will be in the Carter cemetery with Martin-Hullum funeral home
in charge of arrangements.
