RUTHERFORD, CHARLES L.
(29 Jan 1914, Sayre Standard, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK):
After a lingering illness covering a period of several weeks, Judge C. L.
Rutherford died at his home in this city Tuesday evening, January 27th. 
Charles L. Rutherford was born November 9th, 1852, being past sixty-one
years of age at the time of his death.
In 1880 he united with the Christian church and had lived a consistent
Christian life.  He was universally respected by all who knew him and in
his death this community loses one of its best citizens.  The funeral
services were held at the Christian church Wednesday afternoon at 2:30
o'clock, Rev. W. L. Anderson officiating, and the remains were laid at
rest at the Doxey cemetery, the W.O.W., of which the deceased was a
member, having charge of the services at the grave.
The relatives of the deceased have the sincere sympathy of this community
in this their hour of sorrow and affliction.
