(15 Apr 1920, Thursday, Sayre Democrat, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): MRS. R. H. SEAWELL Mrs. R. H. Seawell died at her home in Norman, Oklahoma, April 13th at the age of 95 years. A Tribute On April 13th Grandmother Seawell, aged 95, without pain of illness fell asleep and in that peaceful sleep passed into the great beyond to join the husband of her youth and four of her children who had passed on before into that larger life. Grandmother's life had been a poem in its patience and tranquility notwithstanding the stormy times through which she had passed she having lived to see four wars, the last one the Great War, she saw the Stars and Stripes floating over the Land of the Free. She was a benediction to all who came under influence, ever helpful, ever guiding feet that might have strayed into forbidden paths. God was her only life, to Him, she, from her young and beautiful girlhood, had given her first and best. Five children were left to mourn her loss, Mr. T. H. Seawell of Norman, Mrs. O. H. Benton of Norman, Mrs. P. W. Gum of Sayre and B. J. Seawell of Marshall, Mo. --------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/beckham/beckham.html
