SHANNON, ELIAS
(11 Nov 1909, Thursday, Sayre Standard, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK):
Elias Shannon Dies.
R. S. Young received a telegram from Mrs. E. Shannon at Los Angeles,
California, Tuesday morning, November 9, conveying the information that
Mr. Shannon died in that city the previous day, the 8th, and that
interment would be made there.  The telegram did not state cause of death,
but it was probably due to a complicated trouble which attacked him more
than a year ago.
Deceased settled on a homestead one mile west and one mile north of this
city before the town was founded and at the time of his death owned
considerable valuable city property.
He was an active member of the local lodge, I.O.O.F. and respected in
Sayre and surrounding  community.
