(6 Jun 1929, Thursday, Sayre Headlight, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK):
TEXAS CATTLE BARON DIES AT HIS HOME
Slaughter Is Brother-In-Law of Mrs. J. D. Clay of Sayre Who Attends Funeral.
Another of the old-time cattle barons of Texas passed on May 28 when W. B.
Slaughter died at his home in San Antonio, Tex.  Slaughter was the
brother-in-law of Mrs. J. D. Clay of Sayre.
Slaughter is the brother of Col. C. C. Slaughter of Dallas, Tex.  They
were called the cattle kings of Texas.  W. B. Slaughter was born in Sabine
county Texas in 1848.
His mother was the daughter of Mason Dixon after whom the Mason Dixon line
was named.
Mrs. Clay, Mrs. Wallace Wilson, Mrs. Charley Rook and Miss Annie Louise
Rook attended the funeral which was held at Mineral Wells, Texas.
