Staples, one of the well known pioneer residents of this section, and for a couple of years past a resident of this city, died at his home in Sayre at an early hour Monday morning. About ten days since Mr. Staples attended an auction sale north of this city, contracting a severe cold, which developed into a case of flu. For years he has been a sufferer from kidney trouble, and the cold or flu, went to the affected parts, causing his death as noted. Mr. Staples was about 70 years of age, and had been for many years a resident of the section northwest of this city, leaving the farm and moving to Sayre a couple of years since. Mrs. Staples passed away about six months since, and was buried at the Lone Oak cemetery.
