"Wood" (21 May 1925, Thursday, Sayre Journal, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): Bill Staples received a telegram last week stating that his brother, Wood, of Athens, Texas, was dead. So Bill and his sister, Mrs. Criswell, left last week for the funeral. Wood was well and favorably known in Beckham county and leaves one brother, Bill, and three sisters, Mrs. Joe Brady, Mrs. Tom Criswell, Miss Pearl Staple (sic) and also Mrs. Mattie Lou Staples and two daughters of Sayre, and a host of friends who will be sorry to hear of his demise.
