All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ************************************************ STEPHENS, LARKIN (10 Feb 1905, Friday, Sayre Standard, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): Larkin Stephens, aged 77 years, died Saturday, Feb. 4, 1905, at the home of his son, J. W. Stephens, near Wash, Roger Mills county, Okla. Mr. Stephens was here last summer visiting his son, and liked this country so well that he decided to come here to live, and arrived here January 26th, 1905. He took sick with pneumonia within a few days of his arrival, and died Saturday, February 4. He was from Ophir, Cherokee county, Georgia, where he was known as "Uncle Larkin", and was one of the best known men in that country.
