(25 Jul 1907, Thursday, Sayre Headlight, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): Word was received here last Saturday that W. B. Stovall had died at Mineral Wells, Texas, where he had gone for the benefit of his health. Mr. Stovall had been in Mineral Wells the past month, he has been in very poor health for almost a year. He was the editor of the Sayre Journal which was launched here last spring. Mr. Stovall was a genial good fellow, whom everybody liked and has a host of friends in this part of the territory. His remains were intered (sic) at Mineral Wells. (25 Jul 1907, Thursday, Beckham County Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK): We learn that W. B. Stovall, editor and publisher of the Sayre Journal, died at Mineral Wells, Texas, last Saturday and was buried at that place. Mr. Stoval (sic) had been sick for some time suffering with consumption, and as a last resort some weeks ago went to Mineral Wells. Some months ago Mr. Stovall embarked in the newspaper business in Sayre and was making a success of the business until his health became such that he went to Mineral Wells to seek recovery. He made many friends in Sayre and surrounding country, and his death will cause regret to all who knew him. He was formerly County Superintendent of Roger Mills County. (25 Jul 1907, Erick Altruist, Erick, Beckham Co, OK): Sayre Editor Dies. On last Saturday Mr. W. B. Stovall, the efficient editor and publisher of the recently launched Sayre Journal, died at Mineral Wells, Texas, where he had gone hopeful that he might regain his health or, at least, prolong his life. Mr. Stovall was the victim of consumption, from which disease he had suffered for several months. At the time of his death he was editor and publisher of the Journal, a prosperous and well edited paper at Sayre. Formerly he was county superintendent of Roger Mills County and was also at one time editor of the Roger Mills Democrat. Deceased was born in Tennessee and was between 35 and 40 years old and was unmarried.
