All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ************************************************ STROUP, MARY ISABELL (6 Feb 1919, Thursday, Sayre Headlight, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): Mrs. James Stroup died at her home near Doxey last Wednesday, at the age of seventy-six, having suffered much for a week prior to her death. The funeral services were held at the Doxey-Sayre cemetery by Rev. Tom Steele. Obituary. Mrs. Isabell Stroup, wife of Jas. Stroup, was born in Jacksonville, Ill., August 26, 1843, and died at her home east of Sayre, Jan. 29, 1919, after a two week's illness which was the culmination of very poor health for the last year. Her early life was spent in Iowa and Kansas, and later she resided in Texas, coming to Oklahoma about 20 years ago, and had lived most of this time five miles east of Sayre. She was for many years a member of the M. E. Church. She leaves a husband and two sons, C. C. Milner and G. L. Stroup, both of this vicinity, to mourn her loss, together with a host of friends. The funeral services were conducted by Rev.
