TINDELL, EUGENE IRA "GENE"
(The Sayre Sun, Sayre, Beckham Co, Ok, Thurs, 20 Jan 1966)
Funeral for Ira Tindell is Monday.
Eugene Ira (Gene) Tindell, 82, died Saturday at the Sayre Hospital after
an extended illness.  Funeral services were held Monday at 2 pm in the
First Christian church with Rev. Frank Scofield officiating.  Born August
22, 1883 in Jack County, Texas, Mr. Tindell came to Indian Territory when
a child and to Beckham County in 1899 where his parents resided on a farm
east of Sayre.  He was a member of the First Christian church.  His wife
preceded him in death in 1964.  Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Mary
Campbell, Sayre; Mrs. Imogene Silcott, Pampa, Texas; one sister, Mrs.
Laura Renfro, Sayre; seven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren.
Pallbears were Gene Lewis, Ray Babb, Earl Edwards, Bill Renfro, John
Hohenshelt, Harvey Breeze.  Interment was in the Carter Cemetery with
Moore funeral home in charge of arrangements.
