VAUGHN, J. E.
(8 Jan 1931, Sayre Headlight, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK):
Mr. J. E. Vaughn was born March 23, 1854 in Tennessee.  He died at the
home of James Brazael of Delhi, Oklahoma, December 30, 1930, at the age of
75 years, nine months and seven days.  He was married to Minervia Moran in
1873 and to this union was born 10 children, seven of which are living,
three boys and four girls.  They are:
Mrs. James Brazael and William Vaughan (sic) of Delhi, Mrs. Tom Talley of
West Plains, Missouri, Mrs. Tom Brazael and Mrs. Jesse Brazael of Thayee,
Missouri, Curtis Vauhn (sic) of Boise, Idaho, and Neil Vaughn of Eagle
Grove, Iowa.
He was converted and united with the Baptist church at the age of 40 years
and preached the gospel for 33 years but was not active during the last
two years because of bad health.  Aside from his own family, he leaves
behind one brother, and two sisters, 27 grand children, and 23 great
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held in the Methodist Church at Delhi with burial in
Delhi cemetery.
