C. (sic) Waters, one of our best known and highly respected farmers. Mr. Waters had come to town from his home about eight miles east, shortly afternoon he complained of feeling badly and later entered the Drug Store for medical aid. He then passed out of the rear of the Drug Store and became immediately and seriously worse. He was taken into the Wilson & Witt Store and everything possible that could be done, as physicians were in attendance, but he died in a very few minutes. It was undoubtedly a case of heart disease. His remains were immediately taken charge of by the Masons, and carried to the Bonebrake-Gillum Undertaking Department and then delivered to a deligation (sic) of Delhi Masons, (he was a member of that Lodge) who had just arrived on their way to Shamrock, Texas, to attend the meeting there, and conveyed to his home. His funeral services were held at Delhi Cemetery Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Waters was a man held in high esteem and his sudden death is a grevious (sic) shock to his many friends. --------------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ok/beckham/beckham.htm
