(27 Oct 1921, Sayre Headlight, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): Mrs. Mary M. Whitehurst, mother of John A., George C., and Harry Whitehurst, died at Oklahoma City on Saturday afternoon last at the ripe old age of 80 years. Funeral services were held at Oklahoma City on Sunday afternoon, and the body brought to this city on Monday, being interred at the Sayre cemetery that afternoon with Z. E. Twitty of the Baptist church, in charge of the services at the grave. Mrs. Whitehurst was a pioneer resident of this city and widely known, and highly esteemed. The funeral services here came at a very unfortunate time due to the fact that the city was crowded with visitors for the circus, prohibiting many of the business men from attending. However, the floral offerings at the grave were very numerous and beautiful. (27 Oct 1921, Erick Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK): Funeral services for Mrs. Mary M.
