Eliza, wife of Walter Williams. Six weeks ago Mrs. Williams gave birth to a child and since that time had been in very feeble health. Mr. Williams, accompanied by his brothers B. F. and Ed. started to take her to the home of her parents who reside at Bushong, Kansas, hoping that a visit to the old home would restore her to health. But ere half the journey had been completed the life of the loved one went out and the remainder of the journey was made with the inanimate form "in the baggage coach ahead." The sympathy of this entire community goes out to the bereaved husband and motherless babe. (Jun 1903, Sayre Headlight, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): DIED. This community was greatly saddened this morning to hear of the death of Mrs. Lizzie Williams, which occurred at El Reno, O.T., at 3 o'clock a.m. Her many friends were aware that she was failing rapidly but did not expect to hear of her death so soon. She had been ailing for about two months with consumption and although every effort was made nothing could be done to stop the ravages of that terrible disease. The deceased was the wife of Walter Williams of this place, they had started to her parents home Mr. Joseph Folis in Kansas, but was too weak to stand the trip and died as above stated. Of her immediate relatives here she leaves a husband and an infant of but seven weeks old. The Headlight joins a host of friends in extending to the bereaved husband the sympathy of all who knew her. --------------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ok/beckham/beckham.htm
