All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ************************************************ WINTERS, JOHN LEE (28 Aug 1924, Sayre Journal, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): Obituary Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Winters and children motored from Springfield, Colo., to visit relatives and friends during their vacation. While here their baby, John Lee, became seriously ill and was taken to Elk City where Dr. Colson advised immediate operation after consultation. Dr. Tisdal performed the operation, but with all this aid of skilled medical and surgical men and women and careful nursing, the kindness done by loving relatives and friends was all in vain. John Lee was born January 17, 1924, in Springfield, Colo., and passed to that "Home not made with hands" August 23, 1924, in Elk City, Okla. For seven months and five days he made a bright and shining light in so many hearts and will be always fondly remembered. ---Mr. and Mrs. Winters joined Mr. N. Winters and daughter Ruth, in their car for Springfield, Colo., Tuesday morning to their home. (28 Aug 1924, Thursday, Elk City News Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Berlin News: Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Winters who were here at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Barnes, lost their little seven months old son after an illness of only a few hours. He was buried at Berlin Sunday (Roger Mills County). A little sister as well as the bereaved parents will miss the little fellow so much. (4 Sep 1924, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): BABY DIES The little seven months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Winters died Sunday morning following an illness of only a few hours. The baby was brought here to the hospital from Berlin but it was found that the bowels were telescoped and nothing could be done. It died at 8 o'clock and funeral services were held at 3 o'clock that afternoon at Berlin cemetery (Roger Mills County). Mr. and Mrs. Winters were here from Colorado visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Marshall (sic) of near Berlin. They returned home Tuesday. The grandfather, N. R. Winters, of Colorado attended the funeral.
