Scroggins died suddenly Sunday following a heart attack at his funeral home in Cheyenne, Oklahoma. Mr. Scroggins was born November 12, 1900 in Bolivar, Mo. He was married June 1, 1922 to Anita Heberely at Minneapolis, Kansas. He was a member of the Baptist church, Masonic and IOOF lodges. He was a graaduate of Cincinatti School of mortuary Science. He was a former president of the Southwest Funeral Director Association and had served on the Board of the Oklahoma Funeral Directors association. He was past president of the Sayre Rotary and had served on the City Council. He is survived by his wife of the home address; three children, Earl Jones of Elk City, Oklahoma, Jack T., Amarillo, Texas and Mrs. Bill Grimes of Purcell, Oklahoma. Services were held in the First Baptist church, Sayre Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock with Rev. Leonard Cronin, officiating. Interment was in the Sayre-Doxey cemetery, Sayre, Beckham County, Oklahoma with the Martin-Hullum Funeral home in charge of arrangements. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK 1955
