"Buck" Spurlin was born November 30, 1915 in Carl, Oklahoma to Emma and John Spurlin and passed away February 16, 1994 in Victorville, CA at the age of 78 years, 2months and 16 days. Buck lived in several towns in southwest Oklahoma including Erick Vinson and Mayfiedl before moving with his parents to the Reydon area in 1929. He attended school at Rankin and then Reydon graduating in 1935. Buck married Marguerite Trammell on February 27, 1935 in Reydon, OK where they remained until 1937 when they moved to Hurley, New Mexicto. they returned to Reydon in 1943 before moving to Victorville, CA in 1956 to make their home. He was a member of the Victorville Elks Club. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters Mavis Stinson and Nadine Chandler. Services were at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 19, 1994 at the Reydon Community Building officiated by Jay Tatum. Interment was in the White Rose Cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Cheyenne. Memorial may be made to White Rose Cemetery or Reydon American Legion Hut. Survivors include his wife, Marguerite of the home; 2 daughters, Beverly Tunison, Valencia, CA; Patty Harrison, Reydon, OK; 1 son, Jim Spurlin, valencia, CA; 1 brother Walter Spurlin, Reydon, OK; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
