Funeral services were to be held today, Thursday, March 19, 1970 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Christ with minister, Leroy Cowan, officiating. Mrs. Stafford was born in Murray County, Tennessee on August 31, 1878 moving from Tennessee to Covington, Texas in 1885. She was married to Wiley H. Stafford at Hillsboro, Texas in 1898 when they moved to Sweetwater, Oklahoma. She moved to Erick in 1949. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Her husband and three sons preceded her in death. Survivors include two daughters Mrs. Esther Bomar, Springlake, Texas, Mrs. Fay Ussery, Earth, Texas; one son, C.F. (Pete) Stafford, Sweetwater; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Weatherred, Cleburne, Texas and Mrs. Pat Hogan, Fremont, Cal., thirteen grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Joe Howell, Elza Well, Julian Wallace, A.J. Reed, Barney Freeman and Les Coffey.
