Lloyd L. Draper, 47, Sayre, was driving a 1978 GMC pickup-truck traveling west when he apparently swerved to miss a Sports car traveling east. The driver of the Sports car continued on unaware of the accident. The pickup left the road and overturned two and a half times. A passenger, Michael W. Stockton, 25, 506 North fifth Street, was ejected from the Pickup and was dead on arrival at Sayre Memorial Hospital. Both pickup doors jammed and Lynn Barrel of the Fire department freed Draper with a welding cutting torch in about 20 minutes. Draper was hospitalized at the Sayre Hospital with a chipped vertebra and multiple cuts and bruises. The automobile was totaled, Patrolman Billy Ray Thomas said. The seat belts were not in use. The occupants of the pickup were returned to Sayre from the Garth Russell farm where they had fed their horses.
