BUTLER, L. A.
(6 Aug 1925, Thursday, Texola Tribune, Texola, Beckham Co, OK):
Ira Speed received a telegram Saturday at noon telling of the illness of
L. A. Butler a former resident of this place and who is well known here.
Mr. Speed left immediately by auto for the city to be with Mr. Butler, but
arrived to (sic) late to see him before death as he died at 2:30 Saturday
afternoon.  Interment was made in an Oklahoma City cemetery.
Mr. Butler was formerly in business in Texola, and has a host of friends
here who regret to learn of his death.  The following mention of his death
was carried in an Oklahoma City paper:
L. A. Butler, 60 years old, died at the family home, 1304 West Sixteenth
street, late Saturday evening.  Funeral services will be conducted at the
Watts and McAtee Funeral Home, Monday afternoon, at 4:30 o'clock.  Burial
will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery.  He is survived by his wife and three
daughters, Mrs. Henry Sims, Shamrock, Texas; Mrs. John McMillen, Iowa
Falls, Iowa; Miss Ira Francis Butler, and one son Adam Butler of the home
address.
