H. Sanders here Thursday morning at 1:00 o'clock. She had been ill for a long time. Her condition grew suddenly worse on Sunday last and it was realized that her time was short. Funeral services were conducted at the Baptist church Thursday afternoon and burial was made in the Texola cemetery. Her obituary will appear in next week's paper. (7 Jan 1926, Thursday, Texola Tribune, Texola, Beckham Co, OK): Armanda Elizabeth Sanders, born in Dyer county, Tennessee, November 17, 1836, died at her home in Texola, December 31, 1925, aged 89 years 1 month and 23 days. Deceased moved with her parents to Arkansas in 1854 where she was married to Francis Marion Sanders and to which union was born 5 children, two of whom survive to mourn the loss of a mother. They are J. H. Sanders with whom she was residing at the time of her death and Mrs. D. S. Blair. Soon after moving to the state of Arkansas the subject of this sketch professed her faith in Christ and united with the Baptist church there and has remained a faithful member up until her death and was active in church affairs until old age and its infirmities rendered her unable to further remain active. She moved to Texola, Oklahoma, in 1907, and united with the church here. The funeral for Grandma Sanders was held on Thursday last at the local Baptist church, Rev. N. C. Danner, local pastor, speaking the last words over her remains. Interment was made in the Texola cemetery.
