He passed away Janury 3, 2001 in Clinton Regional Hospital at the age of 81 years, 4 months and 20 days. Wes moved with his parents to the Cheyenne Community where he attended school. He entered the United States Army and served his country during World War II in the European Theater. After his discharge he moved to Broger, Texas where he went to work for Phillips Petroleum as a pipe mechanic. He married Frances Virginia Bowden on Janury 8, 1947 in Childress, Texas. They lived in Borger, Texas when Wes retired in 1982. Frances passed away in 1984. He was married to Delores Graham at Burns Flat, Oklahoma on August 5, 1985. They lived in Elk City, Burns Flat and then moved to Carter in 1988 to make their home. He was attending the Retrop Baptist Curch. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three sisters and two brothers. Services were held Saturday January 6, 2001 at 1:30 p.m. at the Retrop Baptist Church, officviated by Rev. Gary Vitosky. Burial was held at the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Whinery-Savage Funeral Service, Elk City, OK. Survivors include: wife Delores of the home; two daughters, Coell Smith of Sayre, OK and Sherri Meaunrits of Houston, TX; three step daughters, Linda Broussard of Burns Flat, OK, Janice Allen of Muskogee, OK, and Jeannie Glancy of burns Flat, OK, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
