Vaught Rites Set For Tuesday Here Services for Clay C. Vaught, 81-year-old Canute area retired farmer, will be held at 3 p. M. Tuesday in the Elk City Methodist church with Rev. Louie March, pastor, officiating. Born Aug. 18, 1875, in Mena, Ark., Mr. Vaught died Saturday, July 20, after a lengthy illness. He was married to Mary Cox in Stigler, Okla., in 1909.(sic) He had resided in the state for 50 years and had lived in Washita county since 1929. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Vaught, home address, Canute Route 2; a daughter, Mrs. Fannie Melvin, Bristow; four sons, Buster, Jake and Leslie Vaught, all of Elk City, and Lyndell Vaught Canute. Other survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Azie Johnson, Tulsa, and Mrs. Susie Thomas, San Bernardino, Calif.; four brothers, Joe, Millard and Otie Vaught, all of Mena, Ark., and Alex Vaught Meridian, Miss.; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Burial will be in Fairlawn cemetery under the direction of Martin- Hullum funeral home.
