Vaught, 86, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Martin Funeral home chapel with Rev. I. A. Ward, pastor of the Canute Methodist church, officiating. Burial will be in the Fairlawn cemetery. Mrs. Vaught died Monday in a Clinton hospital. She was born July 8, 1881, in Johnson county, Ark., and was married in 1908 to Clay C. Vaught, who preceded her in death on July 20, 1957. She had been living in a Clinton nursing home for the past 18 months. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Fannie Melvin, of Okmulgee; four sons, Buster, Lyndell and Leslie, all of Elk City, and Jake, of Canute; two sisters, Mrs. Bea Elliott, of Stigler, and Mrs. Johnnie Mae Cox, of Kansas: nine grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/beckham/beckham.htm
