In the late 1960's she became a self-employed professional Bee Keeper. In the early 1980's she was employed by the Wal-Mart of Elk City until her retirement. The Elk City Daily News, (date unknown in early 1980s) Larue Walker and Margaret Vaught were guests of honor recently when their children and grandchildren met in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Walker for a "bon voyage" party. The ladies were on their way to Hawaii. Members of the Vaught family attending were Mr. and Mrs. Edward Cook, Jamie, Laurie and Angie; Mrs. Lynn Vaught, Rodney, Cody and Colter, and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Vaught, Chris and Shelly. Mrs. Walker's family attending were Mr. and Mrs. Gary Pope and Brandi, Jeanetta and Michael Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. Donnie Walker and Tyler, and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Walker, Susie and Jill. Unable to join in the celebration were Lynn Vaught, Robert Walker, Mark, Jeff and Kerry Jackson and Steve and Debbie Walker. Margaret married second Glen Hunt. Obituaries by Martin Funeral Home Margaret Music Vaught Hunt November 12, 1930 - June 2, 2013 Funeral services for Margaret Vaught Hunt will be conducted Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. from the Prairie View Baptist Church with Rev. Charlie Henthorn officiating. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home of Elk City. Margaret Mae Music Vaught Hunt was born November 12, 1930 at Elk City to Jim and Norma Marie (Perkey) Music and passed away Sunday, June 2, 2013 at the age of 82. She attended Port School before her marriage to Lyndel Vaught on June 21, 1947. Mr. Vaught preceded her in death on November 8, 1980. Margaret was then married to Glen Hunt on May 27, 1989 and he preceded her in death on December 28, 2006. During her working career, she worked at the Westland Theatre, Wal Mart and was also a caregiver. She was past secretary of the Oklahoma Bee Keepers Association and a member of the Main St. Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, her parents, 2 brothers, a sister and a grandson. Survivors include her children: Linda Cook and her husband Ed of Elk City, Larry Vaught and his wife Rhonda of Canute, Lynn Vaught and his wife LaDonna of Carter, step daughter, Kathy Wilson and her husband Ed of Elk City, 15 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, 4 great- great grandchildren, a sister, Wanda Jean Salsman of Pampa, TX, 3 step brothers, Wester Lackey of Spearman, TX, Junior Lackey of Tulsa, Jody Lackey of Georgia, 3 sisters in law, Nellie Music of Elk City, Frankie Music of Pampa, TX Verle Vaught of Arlington, TX and a brother in law, Roy Jones of Pampa, TX. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/beckham/beckham.htm
