Funeral services for Susan Francis WITHERSPOON were held at 3:30 this
afternoon at the Baptist church in Carter,with  Rev.BRASWELL, minister,
officiating.

Mrs.WITHERSPOON died Thursday night at her home in Carter.She was born
October 30,1860 in Louisiana and was married December 18,1879 to William
S.WITHERSPOON in Arkansas.The couple came to Carter in 1909.She was
preceded in death by her husband on April 28,1923.

Mrs.WITHERSPOON was 76 years five months and 23 days old.

Surviving are two daughters and seven sons.Daughters are Mrs.W.A.PHILLIPS
of Sayre and Miss Nila WITHERSPOON of Carter.Sons are
J.C.WITHERSPOON,Mayfield;G.G.WITHERSPOON,Oklahoma
City;S.L.WITHERSPOON,Cushing;J.E.WITHERSPOON,Oklahoma
City;O.F.WITHERSPOON,C.C.WITHERSPOON,and J.L.WITHERSPOON,all of Carter.
