Wynn, Clinton Veterans Center resident, will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 29, 2009 in the Sayre-Doxey Cemetery in Sayre. Burial will be under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Vernon Markley Wynn was born April 24, 1924 to Vernon E. and Vernie Gertrude Trout Wynn in Follett, TX and died Friday, July 4, 2009 in the Integris Clinton Regional Hospital at the age of 85. Vernon was raised in Western Oklahoma and graduated from Sayre High School in 1942. He farmed with his father before entering into the U.S. Army August 20, 1949 and transferred into the U.S. Air Force on October 31, 1956 and was honorably discharged October of 1962. He was also a member of the National Guard. He married Ruby Fanshier in 1952 in Elk City. He attended an auto mechanic school and worked in several places in Western Oklahoma as a mechanic. He also worked road construction and worked on the I-40 project while it was under construction. He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Faye Fleming; a son, Vernon Eugene Wynn, and a grandson, Eric Eugene Wynn. He is survived by a daughter, Marquita Elisayde of Elk City, and four sons, Ralph Wynn, Hammon, Tony Wynn, Elk City, Mark Wynn, Carpenter, and John Diaz of Elk City; the mother of his children, Ruby Fanshier; two brothers, Dillard Wynn, Choctaw and Coy Nova Wynn of McCloud; 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
