Albert WARNKEN officiating. Burial will follow in the Lone Oak Cemetery under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home of Sayre. Arthur Whittman YARBROUGH was born April 10, 1938 in Atlanta, Georgia to Richard and Evelyn (FICKES) YARBROUGH and died Monday at the age of 57. He entered the US Army at the age of 17 serving in France, Germany and Viet Nam. He returned to assignment in Germany and then the last 7 years of his 20 year tour was in Ft. Bliss, Texas where he retired in 1975. In 1977, Arthur became a welding instructor with Western Tech Institute in El Paso. In 1992 his health failed and they moved to Sayre where he has lived since. Arthur was married to Elsie SCHILLENGER on April 6, 1956 in Straubing, Germany. He was a member of the Lone Oak Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Else YARBROUGH of the Sayre home; four children, Michell YARBROUGH, Evelyn RACADIO and her husband David, Richard YARBROUGH and his wife Wanda and Martin YARBROUGH and his wife Julie all of Sayre; nine grandchildren; and two brothers, Richard T. YARBROUGH and Carris YARBROUGH of Suwanee, Georgia. Viewing will be at Martin Funeral Home in Sayre until Thursday. The casket will not be open following services.
