(28 July 1910, Thursday, The Sayre Standard, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK):
O. J. ADAMS MURDERED.
Killed Sunday Night at Des Moines, New Mexico.
A letter from J. O. Long, who is at North Des Moines, New Mexico, brings
the information that O. J. Adams, a former resident of Sayre, was shot and
killed near that place some time Sunday night.
It seems that Adams had been out in the country and was driving home when
shot.  The horse continued along the road, with the body in the buggy,
where it was found Monday morning.  Two Mexicans have been arrested 
charged with murder.
Adams was an auctioneer, and quite well known in this section, and has
several relatives still living in this section.  During the past winter he
moved his family to New Mexico, taking up his residence at North Des
Moines.
