BASHAW, FEMALE
(20 July 1916, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
LITTLE CHILD DROWNED.
Our community was saddened when the news reached here that the little year
old girl baby of Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Bashaw was drowned in a jar of water,
Friday evening.
Mrs. Bashaw had gone into the pasture to drive the cows home, leaving the
baby in the yard with the other children.  When she returned the older
girl was crying, saying that she could not find the baby.  Mrs. Bashaw
found the child in a jar of water.  Every effort was used to restore life
but without avail.  The accident happened on the day the child was a year
old.
The body was buried in the Barker burying ground near McArthur, Saturday.
