All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ BOSWOOD, ADA CLARENDA (16 Aug 1928, The Sayre Headlight, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): Mrs. Ada Clarenda Boswood, age 29, wife of W. K. Boswood of Dallas, Texas, was killed Sunday morning, August 5th, at 7:30 by a collision of the car which she was driving with a fast passenger train on the Texas & Pacific railroad in the city of Dallas, Texas. Mrs. Boswood was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Miller, pioneer Beckham county residents, who live fourteen and a half miles northwest of Sayre. She was driving across the railroad about four blocks from their home for some provisions for the Sunday dinner, when the accident occurred. Her small daughter, Betty Jean was with her and suffered many injuries, however is now out of the hospital and getting along fine. Mr. and Mrs. Boswood were married in Sayre in 1918. Mr. Boswood was also an early settler with his parents in the county and his mother, Mrs. R. K. Boswood still resides in their old home place eleven miles northwest of Sayre. Four children survive the mother, Kyle, Billie, Betty Jean and Dorothy Sue. The body was brought to Sayre and funeral services were held Wednesday, August 9th at the Christian church , Reverend J. L. Davis officiating and assisted by Rev. E. W. Seles. Interment was made in the Sayre-Doxey cemetery.
