(22 Apr 1915, Thursday, Sayre Standard, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): An accident occurred Wednesday night on the Rock Island at Ramsdell, Texas, in which Walter Boynton, fireman on passenger train No. 44, was killed, and Engineer Frank Chapman was seriously injured. At the place where the accident occurred the track and road bed, according to railroad men at Sayre, is the best between this city and Amarillo. Conflicting reports are current with reference to the number of cars wrecked, but no others except the fireman and engineer were injured. Mr. Boynton's family, consisting of a wife and three children, are residents of Sayre. His remains will be brought here today. At the time of going to press it is not known just how serious are the injuries of Engineer Chapman. Mr. Boynton was a member of the local W.O.W. camp, and a special meeting has been called for tonight to arrange for the funeral. (29 Apr 1915, Sayre Standard, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): Card of Thanks. To our many friends and neighbors who have stood by us so faithfully in this hour of bereavement, we wish to extend our heart-felt thanks. The brotherhood of the co-workers of our unfortunate one has played such a noble part through their kind acts that we fail to find words to express our heart-felt gratitude. May the best of God's creation be yours through this earthly vale and may eternal glory be yours in the end, is our prayer. Mrs. W. L. Boynton, J. C. Boynton, Mrs. E. L. Boynton, E. C. Boynton.
