(10 Nov 1927, Elk City News-Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Mansur Brewer, sixteen year old son of Dr. and Mrs. W. W. Brewer of Hammon, died Monday from the effects of an accident suffered the previous day while playing with other boys at the Trent farm near Hammon. The boys were sliding down a hay stack, passing away the time, when Mansur struck the butt end of a pitch fork, the tines penetrating his body and causing such a serious wound that relief was impossible. Everything possible was done to alleviate his suffering and save his life, but to no avail. The boy was a grandson of A. Mansur and a nephew of H. D. Mansur of this city, who was called immediately following the accident. He was a fine manly boy, well-liked by all who knew him and his death caused a pall over the community where he was so well known. The funeral was preached by Elder J. C. Carman of this city at Hammon, Tuesday afternoon, and interment was made in Fairlawn Cemetery. The News-Democrat joins the friends of the family in extending sympathy in the sad bereavement.
