Bucheck, living seven miles southeast of Elk City, committed suicide at his home last Friday by hanging himself to a door knob. He had been very despondent for the last five or six months and had threatened several times to kill himself. Last Friday he seemed to be more depressed than usual and his wife, becoming alarmed at his condition, went to a neighbor to call for a doctor. While she was away Bucheck ordered the children from the house. When the doctor arrived he went into the house and found the lifeless body suspended from the door knob. A cord had been tied around the knob and then around the neck and it seemed as though the man had sat down, thereby choking himself to death. County officials were notified of the tragedy and after making an immediate investigation, decided that it obviously a case of suicide and an inquest was not held. Bucheck was a man of about sixty years. He leaves a wife and five children. Funeral services were held Saturday, interment being made in the Canute cemetery.
