(10 Sep 1925, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): LIVES 83 YARS AND IS KILLED IN CRASH. W. F. Ellzey, Lone Wolf Pioneer and Formerly Justice of Peace, Victim of Accident. W. F. Ellzey, pioneer citizen of Lone Wolf, and for years a justice of the peace in Dill township, was crushed to death Sunday in a motor car accident, according to a report contained in the Oklahoman of Monday morning, which reads: "W. F. Ellzey, 83 years old, Oklahoma county dairyman, was injured fatally in a motor car crash, in the 100 block on East avenue G, at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon. He died at a city hospital two hours after the accident. "Elizey (sic), the thirteenth victim of automobile accidents this year and the Fifth during the last week was crush-beneath (sic) the car when it overturned after colliding with a machine driven by W. H. Schaffer, according to police reports. His address could not be learned. Ellzey lived nine miles east of the city. "E. W. Noblett, Ellzey's son-in-law, who was driving the car, escaped without injury. Noblett was driving east on avenue G, while Shaffer's car was going west. A third car was parked parallel on the north side of the street, and when the two cars started to pass the left front wheel of Noblett's car was caught and given a jerk. "The jerk caused the car to hurdle forward on top of Ellzey. There were several hundreds of pounds of ice and milk bottles in the car. The body of Ellzey will be brought to Lone Wolf for burial.
