FRANS, KIRBY
(3 Dec 1920, Elk City Press, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
KIRBY FRANZ KILLED.
Mr. Kirby Franz (sic) well known since statehood, was shot at Perry last
Friday by G. C. Mills, who was running an illegal still.
Mr. Franz as enforcement officer had with another deputy siezed (sic) a
still in the cellar of the Mills' and they were taking it apart when Mills
appeared on the stair landing with a Winchester and shot Franz and
disarmed the deputy and made his escape.  He has not been captured.
Mr. Franz was taken to a hospital in Oklahoma City where he died Saturday.
 The remains were taken to Thomas (Custer County) for burial.
