TIM (29 Apr 1926, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): One of the saddest affairs that has happened in the Kim County occurred twenty miles north-east of Kim, Tuesday night when Mrs. Tim Frost and a neighbor boy by the name of Joyce, became lost in a snow storm and wandered over a thirty foot cliff. Mrs. Joyce, who lives on the Lee Pritchard ranch, became ill, Tuesday night and sent her son about eighteen years old, for Mrs. Frost, a mile and a half away. The boy reached the Frost home and taking Mrs. Frost in the wagon started back. The storm was so severe that the team either would not fact (sic) it or missed the road and perhaps thinking they could find the way better on foot the team was abandoned. It is impossible to tell how long this brave woman, answering the call of a sick neighbor wandering around in the blinding storm. When young Joyce recovered consciousness he was in the bottom of a canyon; Mrs. Frost near by with both limbs broken and head crushed. After ascertaining that Mrs. Frost was beyond help, Joyce followed the creek to his home and told of the tragedy. Funeral services were held at the home Thursday and interment made in the Utleyville cemetery. - The Kim County Record. The deceased lived in Erick a number of years. She was a woman of pleasant personality and always doing some deed of kindness for those in distress, and those who know her will recall this above detail of her ministering unto the sick a part of her every day life. Mrs. Tim Frost is a sister of Mrs. Berdie (sic) Hance, who lives in Erick and she also leaves many other relatives and a score of friends to mourn her tragic death. - Beckham County Democrat, Erick. --------------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/beckham/beckham.htm
