A seven-year old son of a Mr. Guy living near Samsville was killed by a pony, November 8. The father of the unfortunate boy had gone to Foss to meet his father-in-law who was expected to arrive from Kentucky. The father had left his son to herd some cattle, riding the pony which seems to have become unmanagable, throwing the boy from the saddle, his foot holding in the stirrup leather. He was found by Henry Berry, who keeps the store at Samsville, in a mangled condition, with his skull broken in and otherwise bruised and mangled. No one witnessed the sad tragedy and the poor boy's body was found by accident not long after it happened. We are indebted to S. H. Knox, a neighbor of the people who names appear in this notice, for our information. ---------------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/beckham/beckham.htm
