JONES, ORLAND
(11 May 1917, The Carter Express, Carter, Beckham Co, OK):
Child Died Saturday
Orland, the five year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Jones, residing in the
country several miles southeast of  Carter, died Saturday evening of lock
jaw.
The boy had stuck a nail in his foot several days before which is said to
have brought on the fatal disease.  Mr. Jones had four physicians with the
child and although everything that could be done to give relief to its
sufferings and stay the ravages of the disease, yet all was of no avail.
The remains were buried in the Poarch cemetery Sunday afternoon and was
attended by a large crowd of sympathetic friends and relatives.
The Express herein joins with the many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Jones and
extend to them our sympathy in the sad and sudden taking away of their
loving child.
