JONES, HARVEY LAVERNE
(1 Mar 1928, Thursday, Erick Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK):
Laverne Jones, 19 months old, lies critically ill in University hospital
as the result of a bean.
By some means, the bean lodged in the child's lung, attending physicians
said.  Pneumonia set in.  Only a part of the bean could be removed, and
physicians now fear for his life as the result.
The child was playing with the bean.  He probably swallowed and in some
manner it became lodged in the lung, the physicians said.
He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Jones; who live near Erick.  The
parents brought the child to the hospital early Sunday morning.  - Daily
Oklahoman.
We are sorry to state the little one died at 8 P.M. Sunday and the body
was brought to Erick on the 7 P.M. train Monday and carried to the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Garrett until Tuesday 2:30 P.M. when funeral services
were held at the Baptist tabernacle conducted by Rev. S. N. Wilson.
